Don't make me taser your ass...
LOL - Can't wait until the 26th when my skins go off on your boys!!!!
i just saw this on the morning tv news - and did not get to hear enough of it to make sense:.
but, they were saying something about a patron sneaking a taser into the sunday game and using it on another fan.. they also said that one of the guys (i assumed the victim) was "a devout jehovah's witness who does not believe in saluting the flag or standing for the national anthem".. anybody know what happened here?.

i just received an email from the ex-jw meetup group coordinator in phoenix.
she stated that the jws are putting credit donation machines at the assembly halls.
is this true?
I saw them last weekend with my own eyes!!! The CO reported that donations at the DC increased by 1/3rd from the previous year's DC due to the ability to accept credit/debit cards. I figured the machines at the DCs were a test run in the US. Given the result, no wonder they're putting them into Assembly Halls.
I agree with Gayle, KHs are next.
This wouldn't be such a big deal but look at the other thread where there are WT quotes about other religions doing the same thing and the WT blasting them for doing so.

leave it to a cowboys fan. The guy was obviously looking for a fight going to a Jets game wearing cowboys gear and being obnoxious. I can imagine that he was running his mouth and when the tables turned, he couldn't take it from the Jets fans. He got mad and started a fight.
2 questions:
1 - How did he sneak a tasar into that stadium on 9/11??? So much for security.
2 - Why didn't he try using it on Tony Romo? After that choke job, you'd think he be a more appropriate target.
And finally, LOL on the JW connection even though he's df'ed. That's awesome.
i received the following email from a former jw that i thought to share.
note: i retyped the boe letter that was sent from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses to all congregations in the us.
the letter is authentic.
Steve,
I think everyone has a problem with the quotes where the WT called other churches greedy by doing this years ago and now they are doing it. Mainly, they put their foot in their mouth as usual. They love to hammer other religions for things only to later do the exact same thing themselves. It's that hypocrisy that is annoying.

They're in operation in the US now. I went to a CA today (I'm drinking now as a result) and indeed there were 4 newly installed stations. to quote the CO " we now have debit/credit stations, I know I don't carry much cash so what a loving provision. So if you want to give $1,000.. HINT..." The audience had a somewhat nervous laugh.
I saw them at lunch.
The CO also said contributions were up in the US by a THIRD at the District Convention due to the use of the cards.
If they hadn't slammed others for doing the same thing, I wouldn't think anything of it. But these hos don't care if they contridict themselves, it all about the cash money.
i couldn't put the words back in my mouth.. that is what i said, without premeditation, to our car group on tuesday, september 11, 2001.. on that day, as an elder, i was out in fs.
in dealing with the shock of what we saw and were listening to on the radio (like good little pioneers, we didn't stop our day, we used this as an opportunity to preach...) some of us were showing the bits of humanity that the borg hadn't completely stolen from us, myself included.. we got an unusual amount of people who talked with us that day.
opinions as you can imagine varied.
ATJ,
Interesting take. I was also a fairly new elder on 9-11-01 and I was convinced that the Great Tribulation had begun. After all, those bombings were conducted by a radical religious group and I thought for sure that the world would finally turn against Babylon and it would be on. Yet, I also remember not being excited about it at all. Just the opposite, I felt sick.
As my wife & I sat in front of the TV that Tuesday evening (we had a Monday bookstudy at the time), neither of us spoke. We didn't eat dinner, just sat there in the dark watching the scene play out over and over again. I thought to myself, "what did the people in the WTC do to deserve such a horrific death"? All they did was go to work that morning. I remember praying that I had done enough to be spared. An absolute sense of dread came over me. I thought about all the people that hadn't been preached to yet, why would they have to suffer? I thought about non-JW workmates, friends, neighbors. All who were now about to die. Maybe I could have done a better job of reaching them. Was their blood to be on my hands? I had friends in NYC, were they ok?
I also remember going in service that Sat after. I didn't present any magazines, just would read some scriptures and chat with folks. The overwhelming sadness was still very raw. Yet, it was probably the best day I ever had in service because 1) I wasn't trying to leave mags and 2) I was simply trying to provide a measure of peace. Had long conversations with householders that day and very little WT doctrine was discussed.
That day and the weeks that followed did erode my faith in the WT. The US didn't decend into anarchy. Instead, people pulled together. And in the next few years, instead of the world cracking down on religion, things pretty much stayed the same as far as religious freedom went.
I often asked myself, surely the 9-11 attacks must have been part of prophesy. If that wasn't enough to spark the attack on religion by world governments, then what would it take? That stuck with me and a few years later, I started questioning various doctrines.
out now.. yes, yes, yessssss!
on p. 26-27 they talk about how the lunar positions on vat 4956 fit 588/7 bce!!!.
"clearly, much of the astronomical data in vat 4956 fits the year 588 b.c.e.
marking, thanks to all for your contributions.
dad was a great man, great, despite the religion.
he was powerful, tall and intelligent, yet humble and kind.
he was an introvert, and a circuit overseer.
Paul,
So sorry for your loss. Condolences to you and your family during this time of grief. It sounds like you Dad was a great guy and that he will be missed.
i thought i would never get my college degree from a university in this century at the age of 48 but i did it and graduated with an "a-" average.
i did this all the while working a full time job and going to school full time.
it can be done and now i love school to death.
That's fantastic!! Congratulations on both the degree and the high marks. I finished my BA last year and can relate to your feelings of accomplishment. Good luck on the masters!
